On
returning from my extended stay in Mexico City I am preparing to begin
a new series of works based on my observations and experiences there.
Exposed to this alien cultural corpus, I found myself submerged in
an unknown world, no longer on firm footing. Revealed to me was an
entire society completely hidden from my eyes, complete with it's
own laws of behavier and rationales.The new ( to me) body politic
expands. More and more I see from the corner of my eye the *maducus.*Maducus,
(Latin). The mask which represents the glutton.
The
road to the New World Order involves both in metaphor and reality,
mass lobotimzation of the individual persons through mass media and
culture. The identity of the person has in the last 150 years shifted
from the individual within a collective, to the consumer template,
whose purpose is as a production unit absorbed into the mass culture
which in turn is manipulated by The New World Order."The homogenization
of the landscape into one McKFC-Bell-Mart turns every place into every
other place. Everything becomes replaceable. Cars, shoes, food, entertainment,
art, and people all become components; machine parts. Stalin would
have LOVED it. Ê Between 1944 and 1960, over 100,000 lobotomies had
been performed in the United States. The figure for Europe was similar.
